Gifts of cash are the most popular type of charitable gift and can be used immediately by PHS.

Your contribution to the PHS Annual Fund will provide much-needed unrestricted support for our critical programs.
Each year PHS invests
the proceeds from the Philadelphia Flower Show toward this goal, but these funds alone cannot support all the ways in which PHS is helping to create a better city for residents and visitors.

Tribute Gifts
Perfect for birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, engagements, or as an expression of sympathy, a tribute gift is a wonderful way to honor family and friends throughout the year. A personal acknowledgement is sent to the family or individual being honored.

Plant a tree in support of TreeVitalize to celebrate a birth, anniversary or wedding. You may also choose to remember or honor someone special.

Your generous gift will support the following TreeVitalize projects:

Riparian Tree Plantings – A gift of $25 will plant one small (3-4 feet) native tree along streams in Fairmount Park, and public lands or private protected lands in Bucks, Chester, Delaware and Montgomery counties.

Neighborhood Tree Plantings – A gift of $200 will support the purchase of a large (8-10 feet) tree that will be planted in a Philadelphia neighborhood park.

Donors will receive an acknowledgement of their tax deductible contribution. 

Please note: Attaching name plaques to trees is not a recommended best practice. Not having name plaques allows 100% of your gift to be directed to the planting and care of the tree.

Appreciated Securities
Gifts of securities are simple to donate and may provide favorable tax benefits. Appreciated securities, held for more than one year, may be deducted from taxable income without paying a capital gains tax on the appreciated portion of the gift. Gifts of securities are credited on the date of transfer to PHS and are valued at the mean of the high and low quoted sales price on the day of the gift.

Matching Gifts
If your employer has a matching gifts program, your gift to PHS could be doubled or tripled. Matching gift forms are generally available through your employer's human resources department.

Monthly Gift Program
Our "Monthly Gift Program" is an easy way to increase the size of your gift by making monthly installments. Each month, the amount you designate will be charged to your credit card. You will receive a letter of acknowledgement every month.
